As part of Quilt Con, the MQG issued a challenge to modern quilters to create blocks in the colors of the Quilt Con logo representing what modern quilting means. For the July Meeting, create a block in the colors of the logo (over there in the side bar ----->) measuring 12.5 inches by whatever width you'd like {seriously, that's what it says!}. Blocks can be made in solids or prints. Fabric bundles have been assembled by select online fabric stores or work from stash. If you bring your blocks to the meeting, we can send them in together. If you are submitting blocks on your own, blocks are due no later than August 15, 2012 with your block challenge entry form.

Elizabeth Hartman will be judging the challenge blocks and the winning blocks will be made into a quilt to be raffled off at Quilt Con. Remaining blocks will be made into quilts and donated to the Austin Children's Shelter in Austin, Texas.
